Best company and lake to rent a houseboat on. Great family!
Murray and Corina were great. The service was very good. We were stuck once (something difficult to avoid on this lake), and Dennis was dispatched quickly. Yes the boat we rent was a little old but everything worked well with no hassle, and did not affect our experience a bit. One additional bonus: the path out of the boat house to the main lake is itself an 'eye-candy' for the natural beauty and wildlife lovers. We drove the boat one evening out, and saw the most gorgeous evening glow with glass-smooth lake. When you are there, make sure to also check out the float plane run by Van Air. My wife and I had a blast with an aerial tour of Boundary Waters. A must see! (When we returned, Dennis had turned our boat around, gassed up everything etc .. such a gentle man!) I would definitely rent from Kinsey again.
I can't say enough about these guys. This is my 2nd time renting their houseboats and it was on fairly short notice, with lake water levels extremely low and of concern for the fishing opener. They are always willing to help with anything from loading gear, to showing how all features of the boat work, to making sure a person knows where they are going on the lake and what to avoid. Both units I've used have been in great condition with everything in proper working order. Prices are definitely fair in my opinion, and the comfort of a heated houseboat is PRICELESS when a fishing/camping trip encounters rain and snow!!!! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and won't hesitate to use them again should the opportunity arise.
We had an amazing time! I would recommend this trip to anyone who has not done such a thing before. Murray and Corina were MORE than accommodating, and are fantastic people! Kids had a blast!! Boat was amazing!
We had a wonderful vacation on our Kinsey Houseboat. The boat was bigger and better than we expected. Birch Lake is beautiful. Kinsey's service was awesome. We had trouble finding enough wood for a campfire. I called in on the marine radio and the guys brought us firewood. When they arrived, they asked if we need any ice since they were there. They think of your needs before you do. I highly recommend Kinsey Houseboats and will rent again next summer.
